Each month, TEAM TN features its partners that make this work possible. Today, we’re highlighting TLD Logistics. We spoke with TLD Logistics Green Team members Maintenance Manager Jason Coles and Senior Accounting Manager Morgan Thompson about the company’s mission and why they joined TEAM TN. 

Why is advanced mobility important to TLD Logistics?

TLD Logistics, as a good corporate citizen, would like to ensure a better environment for future generations. Since TLD is a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, we are one of the few trucking companies in the United States that is on such an aggressive path to reduce our carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and net zero by 2050. Advanced mobility solutions are important to TLD as they are an integral part to help us achieve our sustainability goals. 

Why did TLD Logistics sign on to TEAM TN?

We joined TEAM TN to work alongside industry experts who are working on similar sustainability solutions to ensure TLD is making the best decisions on new technologies that make the most sense economically and environmentally.

What does TLD Logistics hope to gain through the initiative?

We hope to gain education from others who have expertise in advanced solutions as this is new territory for TLD as well as many trucking companies.

What makes TN the right state for this kind of initiative?

Tennessee has access to eight interstate highways. I-40 runs across Tennessee for 455 miles – more than any other state. Its geographic location also makes it well traveled state as it also borders eight states making it ideal for transportation hubs. 50% of our asset-based orders travel through the state of Tennessee.
